This pressure switch is a complete pressure control unit designed for 3-phase compressors up to 7.5 kW. The unit features reinforced copper contacts rated at 20 A and a 3-phase relay. The pressure switch is supplied fully assembled with all components required for operation: two pressure gauges, a pressure reducer, two standardised quick couplings, a safety valve and a built-in unloader valve.

The factory setting provides cut-in at 5 bar and cut-out at 8 bar. The cut-out pressure can be adjusted up to 12 bar depending on the compressor's capacity. The safety valve is preset to 8.5 bar and can be readjusted up to 12.5 bar. The built-in unloader valve eases starting by releasing pressure in the line between the compressor's cylinder head and non-return valve at cut-out.

The pressure switch mounts onto the compressor's pressure vessel via a 1/2" thread (approx. 21 mm external thread). The threaded connection should be sealed with thread sealant during installation. The unloader valve outlet (1/8") can be connected to the compressor's non-return valve with a pipe fitting. If the compressor lacks an unloader function, the outlet does not need to be connected or plugged – the pressure switch operates correctly regardless.

What is a compressor pressure switch and why should you choose this model?

A pressure switch (pressostat) controls the compressor motor automatically by switching on at a preset minimum pressure and shutting off at a preset maximum pressure. This model is rated for 3-phase motors up to 7.5 kW with reinforced copper contacts at 20 A, ensuring reliable operation even at high currents. It is supplied as a complete unit with pressure gauges, reducer, quick couplings and safety valve – everything needed to control the compressed air system is housed in a single assembly. The ability to adjust the cut-out pressure up to 12 bar makes the switch suitable for a broad range of compressors.

What environments is the compressor pressure switch suited to?

The pressure switch suits workshops, industrial premises, automotive garages and production facilities with 3-phase power (400V). It is appropriate for compressor systems driving pneumatic tools, spray guns, sandblasters and pneumatic machinery. Thanks to the adjustable pressure range (5–12 bar), the switch can be adapted to varying requirements – from lighter workshop tasks to more demanding industrial applications.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Does this pressure switch work with 3-phase compressors up to 7.5 kW in an automotive workshop?

Yes, the pressure switch is rated for 3-phase compressors (380/400V) with motors up to 7.5 kW. The reinforced copper contacts handle 20 A and provide reliable operation at high currents. The factory setting gives cut-in at 5 bar and cut-out at 8 bar, which suits most automotive workshop applications. The cut-out pressure can be adjusted up to 12 bar if required.

What pressure ranges and equipment are included with the compressor pressure switch?

The pressure switch has a factory-set cut-in pressure of 5 bar and cut-out at 8 bar, with the option to adjust the cut-out up to 12 bar. The safety valve is set to 8.5 bar (adjustable to 12.5 bar). The delivery includes 2 pressure gauges, an integrated pressure reducer, 2 standardised quick couplings, an aluminium manifold, a built-in unloader valve (outlet 1/8"), a safety valve and a 400V 3-phase relay with 20 A copper contacts.

What sets this compressor pressure switch apart from other pressure switches on Verktygsgrossen?

This pressure switch stands out through its reinforced copper contacts rated at 20 A, supporting motors up to 7.5 kW – exceeding many competitors in the same price range. The unit is supplied complete with pressure gauges, reducer and quick couplings, ready to install without additional purchases. The built-in unloader valve eases compressor starting and the adjustable pressure range (up to 12 bar cut-out) provides flexibility across different applications.
