This thin 1.0 mm cutting disc is made for 125 mm angle grinders and cuts stainless steel, mild steel, non-ferrous metals and plastics. The narrow kerf lets the disc pass quickly through the material, removing minimal stock and producing less heat and fewer burrs in the cut than a thicker disc.
The disc uses aluminium oxide abrasive in grit 60 with hardness grade F, a soft bond that releases fresh grit as the old wears. That keeps the disc cutting in hard materials such as stainless steel and reduces the risk of discolouring the surface. The disc is flat, type T41, and made to EN 12413.
The pack contains 50 cutting discs, enough to last in workshops and on sites where discs are used at a steady rate.
Please note: the branding on the discs may vary depending on availability, but we always ship an equivalent cutting disc with the same dimensions and specification and at least the same quality.
Key benefits of a 1.0 mm cutting disc for stainless steel
Faster cuts with less heat. Stainless steel conducts heat poorly and discolours easily when the cut runs too hot. A 1.0 mm disc removes less material per cut than a 1.6 or 2.5 mm disc, giving shorter cutting time, fewer sparks, fewer burrs to grind off afterwards and less load on the angle grinder.
Applications for the cutting disc
The cutting disc is used to cut pipes, profiles, sheet, threaded rod, rebar and bolts in stainless and mild steel, as well as aluminium, copper and plastics. It suits sheet metal workers, plumbers, welders and installers, and works equally well in the workshop and on site.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can the 125 x 1.0 mm cutting disc be used for side grinding?
No. A flat T41 cutting disc at 1.0 mm is intended for cutting with the edge only. Side loading during grinding can crack the thin disc and cause it to break apart in use. For grinding welds and surfaces, use a depressed-centre grinding disc or a flap disc. Always use the grinder's guard and safety glasses.
Does the 125 x 1.0 mm cutting disc fit my angle grinder?
Yes, if the grinder takes 125 mm discs with a 22.23 mm bore and has a maximum speed of no more than 12,200 rpm, which applies to most grinders of that size. Check the rating on the machine. A speed above 12,200 rpm exceeds the disc's 80 m/s limit and is not permitted.
What separates a 1.0 mm cutting disc from a thicker 1.6 or 2.5 mm disc?
Cutting speed against durability. A 1.0 mm disc cuts faster, runs cooler and leaves fewer burrs, suiting stainless steel, thin-walled tube and sheet. A thicker disc tolerates more side load and lasts longer in heavy profiles and solid steel, but cuts more slowly and heats the material more. For most cutting jobs in stainless and thinner steel, 1.0 mm is the more efficient choice.
