The BitMag Metal is the bit holder in its original build: machined from aluminium, with a neodymium magnet in each of the five slots. It screws into the belt clip hole of the driver and keeps the bits at eye height on the tool — swapped with one hand, gloves on, while the other hand holds the tool.
The neodymium magnets hold the bit with even force through impacts, vibration and work upside down, and handle long bits, drills and attachments as well as the short bits the holder is primarily built for. The holder is double-sided and mounts on either side of the tool at any angle. Genuine product, designed and made in Sweden.
What does the aluminium do to the holder?
It gives it the character of the machine itself: the brushed metal reads as part of the driver rather than an accessory, and stays in place year after year through drops, being thrown around the van and the knocks of site life. For anyone wanting a holder in the same material as the metal details of the tool, this is the build.
Where does the metal version earn its place?
With the professional who runs the tool hard every day — framing, installation and service work where bits change often and the pace is high — and with anyone simply wanting the metal feel on their machine. The included screw fixes the holder in the belt clip hole on Bosch, Makita, HiKOKI/Hitachi, DeWalt, Festool and Milwaukee.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How does the BitMag Metal mount on tools without a clip hole?
With strong double-sided mounting tape or construction adhesive directly on the tool body — the same solution applies to makes the included screws do not fit, and to surfaces such as the tool box or the van panel. Milwaukee M12 needs a longer M2.5 screw with spacer washers. 3M tape is sent free of charge if you ask for it in a note on your order.
Do the bits stay put during impact driving?
Yes, the neodymium magnet in each slot holds the bit through the impact mechanism's shocks, vibration and work upside down — even in winter cold. Bits, longer bit holders and hex shank drills sit equally secure.
Why is the BitMag built for short bits?
Because short bits are the most practical in the work but the hardest to handle: they slip out of the hand, disappear in the pocket and are close to impossible to grip with gloves on. In the BitMag they stand out far enough to pull off with gloves on.
Why does the BitMag make the work safer?
Since the bit change is done with one hand, the other can hold on to the ladder, the scaffold or the workpiece. Whoever is working at height does not need to climb down for a new bit, and no bits fall on anyone working below.
What sets the BitMag Metal apart from the composite version?
Material, magnet type and price — not function. The metal version is machined from aluminium with neodymium magnets, while the composite version is injection moulded in glass fibre reinforced composite with samarium cobalt magnets, comes in five colours and costs less. Capacity, mounting and grip are the same, so the choice comes down to material and looks.
