Important regarding dimensions and duct connection (*)
There can be confusion regarding the dimensions in certain datasheets. Here is a clarification specifically for the BRF-160 model:
1. Why does it say 80 mm (F) in some drawings?
In some technical drawings, the dimension F = 80 mm is specified. This refers to the diameter of the internal inlet throat (restrictor) in the base plate, designed to increase pressure. It is not the size of the ventilation duct you should connect. Connecting an 80 mm duct would create extremely high air velocities and noise.
2. Which duct size should I actually use?
Even though the internal inlet hole is smaller, the connection surface and base plate are sized for standard ventilation ducts.
- Recommendation: Use a standard 160 mm ventilation duct up to the roof curb for optimal performance and noise levels.
- Mounting: The fan is typically mounted on a roof curb. The critical dimension is the hole pattern (E).
3. Critical dimensions for mounting the BRF-160
- Base Plate (A x B): 252 x 260 mm
- Hole Pattern (E): 210 mm (center-to-center distance between screw holes)
Conclusion: Prepare a roof curb or connection that matches the 210 x 210 mm hole pattern.
