SpeedBox for Bosch Smart System is designed to unlock the speed limiter on your e-bike, allowing you to experience more freedom and flexibility on every ride. This Bosch eBike tuning chip enables speeds beyond the usual limits and is perfect for the latest Bosch Gen4 motor and Smart System.

Note: Bosch Smart System Software version 11.13.0 causes incompatibility with SpeedBox products for Bosch ordered before 05/2024.
To activate all functions of the SpeedBox 1.1 for Bosch, switch to the wheel circumference setting after initial tuning installation. Activate or deactivate the tuning only before the ride, when the e-bike is standing still.
Activate SpeedBox by briefly pressing the WALK assist function (hold the “-” button). Your display will show 3.5 km/h (2.2 mph), unlocking the ride up to 35 km/h. You can adjust the limit up to 99 km/h, but we recommend a maximum of 35 km/h to avoid potential error codes.
To deactivate, press the WALK assist function briefly again. Your display will show 2.5 km/h (1.6 mph), restoring the speed limit to 25 km/h.
For e-bikes without an active WALK assist function, activate tuning by pressing - + - + buttons.
Set the maximum speed by switching modes from TURBO three levels down and up: eMTB - TOUR+ - ECO - TOUR+ - eMTB - TURBO. The displayed value corresponds to the limit set, which will save after 15 seconds of inactivity.
After your ride, leave the e-bike on until 0.0 km/h is displayed, ensuring a safe shutdown. Do not remove the display to lock the bike until the countdown completes.
The Bosch eBike tuning chip, SpeedBox 1.1, is easy to install thanks to original connectors. Follow our detailed video instructions for smooth installation. If installing on a new e-bike, ride at least 10 km before activating the tuning chip.
Connect the male and female connectors in the direction of the lock. Avoid rotating connectors during assembly!

Please note that operating this type of modified electric bike on public roads may be against the law in some countries. The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for any damages resulting from the use of SpeedBox products. Electric bikes equipped with SpeedBox products are not permitted for use on public roads, cycling paths, or public places. Such bikes are intended for use solely on private property and entirely at the user’s own risk. Additionally, using SpeedBox may void the warranty on your e-bike.
Safety Recommendation: We strongly advise using additional safety features and protective gear to prevent injuries.
Tuning is automatically deactivated when the e-bike is switched off and must be reactivated when the bike is turned on.
This Bosch Gen4 model with Smart System works only with the LED Remote and without an LED screen. The SpeedBox B.Tuning version can be used by connecting to the SpeedBox app to view tuning activation/deactivation and real-time riding data.
If you follow the recommendations on our website, limp mode should not activate. We recommend uninstalling the SpeedBox before taking the e-bike to a service station to avoid impacting your warranty.
Bosch systems are vigilant about detecting tuning, which requires certain precautions to minimize the risk of tuning detection (e.g., mileage calibration – "the countdown"). If another manufacturer claims that countdown is not required, we advise caution, as this is technically impossible. Recalibration is always necessary, but for some tuning models, it may occur discreetly in the background.
NOTE: The maximum continuous riding time with tuning is 90 minutes. In practice, a few tens of minutes may be sufficient. Pauses during riding are allowed. After this period, we recommend riding an additional 10 km without tuning activated and switching between gears and assistance modes during the ride. After this, the error message will disappear.
When Bosch detects tuning (e.g., after a firmware update or if the countdown after each long ride is not followed), motor assistance is disabled. You must then ride for several tens of minutes without assistance to reset the system.
When using SpeedBox 3.0 with Bosch motors from the 4th generation (produced in 2020 or later), it is important to leave the bike on after finishing the ride until the value 0.0 km/h is displayed. During this process, the remaining time will be displayed in minutes. Once the countdown is complete, the bike can be safely turned off.
We recommend that you do not update the software on your e-bike as this increases the risk of tuning detection.
