The Cormak KDP1000 is a 1000-litre industrial blast cabinet for intensive blasting of large parts: rims and wheels, housings, machine casings and heavier structural components. The 850-litre working area gives room to turn and position parts that will not go into a standard workshop cabinet.

The cabinet works as a closed system, and seals all round limit dust spreading into the workplace. The DC15 cyclone dust extractor is included and draws dust out of the cabinet so the view of the workpiece stays clear while blasting. The body is built from steel sheet and powder coated.

The cabinet is delivered for self-assembly. A compressor is not included and should be chosen to match the nozzle, working pressure and workload. Swedish manual available on request.

What sets a 1000-litre industrial blast cabinet apart?

Two blast guns give two ways of working in the same cabinet. The hand gun aims the stream exactly where it is needed, while the fixed gun is mounted inside the cabinet so the part can be moved past the stream with both hands. The blow gun clears abrasive and dust from the finished part before the cabinet is opened. The front lid lifts on gas struts, making it easier to load and unload heavy parts. Lighting and a wide viewing window keep the result under control, even in hard-to-reach areas. The drain at the bottom of the hopper makes changing abrasive straightforward.

How the blast cabinet is used in industry and the workshop

The KDP1000 is built for the automotive, shipbuilding and aviation industries and for commercial blasting services. Typical jobs include:

  • restoring steel and aluminium rims
  • removing rust, corrosion, paint and old coatings
  • cleaning profiles and steel structures
  • blasting machine casings, housings, engine parts and suspension components
  • surface preparation before powder coating, welding and galvanising

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How large are the parts that fit in the Cormak KDP1000 blast cabinet?

The Cormak KDP1000 blast cabinet has internal dimensions of 1120 x 900 mm with an internal height of 420 mm at the lowest point and 820 mm at the highest. Parts taller than 420 mm must sit under the higher section of the roof, and nothing taller than 820 mm will fit. The working area is 850 litres.

What are the fixed gun and blow gun used for in the Cormak KDP1000 blast cabinet?

The fixed gun in the Cormak KDP1000 is mounted inside the cabinet, letting the operator hold and turn the part with both hands in front of the stream. The hand gun is used when the stream needs to be aimed at a specific spot. The blow gun clears remaining abrasive and dust from the cleaned part before it is taken out.

How does the Cormak KDP1000 blast cabinet differ from a 450-litre blast cabinet?

The Cormak KDP1000 has 900 mm internal depth and up to 820 mm height, against 650 mm depth and 630 mm height in the 450-litre Cormak KDP450TOP. The KDP1000 also comes with both hand and fixed blast guns, a blow gun and 7 ceramic nozzles, against one gun with 4 nozzles. At 149 kg against 105 kg and 1800 mm tall, it needs more floor space and ceiling height in the workshop.
