The Cormak KDP450TOP is a 450-litre blast cabinet for users who regularly clean larger metal parts. It removes rust, old paint, deposits and stubborn dirt from rims, housings, car parts, machine components and steel structures. The front lid is lifted by gas struts and stays open, so heavy and awkward parts can be placed in the cabinet without holding the lid.
The DC15 cyclone dust extractor is included and connects to the cabinet's Ø64 and Ø90 mm extraction ports. It carries away dust, spent abrasive and residue from removed coatings, giving a clearer view of the workpiece. The extractor does not replace workplace ventilation or personal protective equipment.
The cabinet is delivered as a kit for self-assembly. Swedish manual available on request.
Why rim and vehicle restorers choose a 450-litre blast cabinet
An internal width of 1140 mm and a height of 630 mm make room for parts that do not fit in smaller blast cabinets. The integrated rubber gloves let the operator turn the part and guide the gun without opening the cabinet, while the 580 x 270 mm window and 12 V lighting help keep the finish even. The bottom drain opening makes it easy to empty the cabinet and switch to a different abrasive without dismantling anything. Rubber seals around the lid keep dust and abrasive inside the working area.
Applications for the large blast cabinet
The cabinet is used to clean and key metal surfaces before painting, powder coating, welding, bonding or rust protection. In vehicle restoration and the workshop, typical parts include:
- steel and aluminium rims
- brake callipers, brackets and mounts
- housings, covers and casings
- suspension and drivetrain parts
- metal engine and gearbox parts
- tools, machine parts and steel structure components

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Which abrasives can be used in the Cormak KDP450TOP blast cabinet?
The Cormak KDP450TOP blast cabinet works with dry abrasives intended for blast cabinets, such as glass beads, corundum, white fused alumina, synthetic abrasive or plastic granulate. Damp or unsuitable media causes uneven flow and can clog the nozzle. Grit size, nozzle diameter and pressure are matched to the workpiece material. Abrasive is not included.
What compressor does the Cormak KDP450TOP blast cabinet with dust extractor need?
The Cormak KDP450TOP blast cabinet needs 4–8 bar and an air consumption of 400–1000 l/min via a 1/4" quick coupler. Actual compressor output should be matched to nozzle diameter, set pressure, abrasive, hose length and how intensively the cabinet is used. A compressor is not included, and the lighting needs a 230 V socket.
How does the Cormak KDP450TOP blast cabinet differ from a smaller 350-litre blast cabinet?
The Cormak KDP450TOP has an internal width of 1140 mm and a height of 630 mm, compared with 890 mm width and 360/610 mm height in the 350-litre Cormak KDP350TOP. The larger cabinet takes longer and taller parts but uses up to 1000 l/min of air against 700 l/min and weighs 105 kg against 88 kg. That means higher demands on the compressor and on workshop space.
